Agile Development Methodologies Appraised at CMMI Level 3 for Development
ORBIS IT Development has been appraised at level 3 of ISACA’s Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI®).

CMMI is a proven, outcome-based performance model and the globally accepted standard for improving capability, optimizing business performance and aligning operations to business goals. An appraisal at Maturity Level 3 indicates the organization is performing at a “defined” level. At this level, processes are well characterized and understood, and are described in standards, procedures, tools and methods. The organization’s set of standard processes, which is the basis for Maturity Level 3, is established and improved over time.

Full Implementation of all NIST 800-171 and CMMC L2 Controls
ORBIS is committed to protecting sensitive information and maintaining compliance with applicable contractual and regulatory requirements. Our operations align with DFARS requirements, NIST SP 800-171, and CMMC Level 2 expectations, reinforcing our focus on secure operations, responsible data handling, and dependable support for customer missions.
Working with ORBIS
ORBIS expects subcontractors and suppliers to meet all applicable contractual cybersecurity and information protection requirements associated with the work they perform. Where flowed down, this includes DFARS 252.204-7012, implementation of applicable NIST SP 800-171 security requirements, timely cyber incident reporting, preservation of relevant forensic data, and use of cloud service providers that meet FedRAMP Moderate or equivalent requirements.
CMMC Expectations
Subcontractors and suppliers supporting applicable DoD work are expected to maintain the required CMMC status for the information and services they support. During the phased CMMC rollout, ORBIS encourages suppliers handling CUI to pursue Level 2 certification as soon as practicable. Beginning November 10, 2025, DoD may include CMMC requirements in new solicitations, contracts, and certain option periods based on program needs and applicable contract requirements.
