Guy
Mossman
Chief Executive Officer
Guy Mossman develops the strategic vision and guiding principles to achieve company growth goals and objectives. His keen engineering knowledge, deep understanding of Navy and DoD programs and astute leadership skills have led ORBIS to become a premier engineering and management service company providing expert solutions to our customers. Prior to establishing ORBIS, Guy was the Vice President of Operations at Life Cycle Engineering. He was also the Deputy Program Executive Officer for Submarines and a member of the US government Senior Executive Service where he received Civilian Meritorious and Superior Civilian Service Awards. He holds a B.S. degree in marine engineering from Maine Maritime Academy.

Charlie
Grabenstein
President
Charles Grabenstein has been with ORBIS since 2012 and works out of the Groton, CT office. Prior to ORBIS, he was the COO at SUBSYSTEM Technologies, Inc. where he was accountable for all client relationships, subcontractors and support contracts for the US Army, US Navy, Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS). From 1999 to 2010, Charles was a Vice President for Alion Science and Technology Corporation (formerly Anteon Corporation). He managed a $40M operation supporting NAVSEA PEO Submarines, PEO Aircraft Carriers, and PEO Littoral Mine Warfare. Charles holds a Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from the University of New Haven.

John Bacak has been with ORBIS since 2018 and works out of the Charleston, SC headquarter office. John is responsible for ORBIS’s overall financial functions and activities, including financial reporting and accounting, treasury, financial planning and analysis, tax, and outside auditors. John also provides leadership within the company’s operating units, including program finance. John brings over 30 years of experience of corporate finance, government contracting, and acquisitions. Prior to ORBIS, John held senior financial leadership positions with both FORTUNE 500 companies and medium size professional services and government contracting firms. John holds a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accountancy from James Madison University.

Shauna
Burrows
Chief Operating Officer
Shauna Burrows oversees all DoD and commercial customer services, marketing and corporate development strategy and operations, as well as ORBIS’ engineering, technical, trade and consulting services divisions. Shauna started with ORBIS in April of 2005, and as Chief Business Development Officer (CBDO), managed the corporate marketing activities including strategic marketing planning, major program initiatives, as well as the business development and proposal processes. Her business background spans over 17 years in the defense arena. Mrs. Burrows is a graduate of the University of Alabama with a B.A. in Communication and Informational Services, and also serves in various professional, civic and community organizations.

Marshallick
Chief Information Officer
Dave Marshallick is the Chief Information Office at ORBIS since September 2020. Dave joined the ORBIS team in 2004 while continuing the pursuit of degrees in IT Networking & Infrastructure and Network Security; while acquiring multiple related certifications. Dave works with IT staff, department heads and leadership to ensure service, support and compliance is being provided in the most efficient way possible. Dave is responsible for keeping ORBIS IT policies and certifications up to date and working with vendors and leadership on ever-evolving information security threats.

O'Brien
Chief Growth Officer
Jackie O’Brien leads merger & acquisition initiatives within ORBIS in support of the company growth goals and objectives. She brings over 30 years of experience in corporate strategy, business development, and technology working around the world. Prior to joining ORBIS, Jackie held executive positions with FORTUNE 100, medium, and small companies driving the development and execution of growth strategies within aerospace and defense, and marine markets. Jackie served as Chief Executive Officer and on the Board of Directors at Engineers Without Borders, USA. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Engineering from The Ohio State University and a Masters in Business Administration from Case Western Reserve University.

Outside of ORBIS, Mike is an aviation enthusiast and an instrument rated private pilot. He also plays ice hockey and enjoys adventuring outdoors, where he spends most of his free time with his wife and three daughters.

Doug Oglesby

Government Services
Doug Oglesby joined the ORBIS team in 2017 and leads the Washington, DC office as the Director of Operations. A career Navy Engineering Duty Officer, Doug concluded over 28 years of service with five years as the Program Manager for CVN 79 and CVN 80 (PMS 379) at the Washington Navy Yard. He brings extensive acquisition, shipbuilding, and life cycle support experience to the ORBIS team. Doug holds degrees from the University of Missouri-Rolla (BS in Aerospace Engineering) and Naval Postgraduate School (MS and Engineer’s Degrees in Mechanical Engineering). He has also received Level III certification in both Program Management and Production, Quality, and Manufacturing from the Defense Acquisition University.

Craig Richard

After a 23 year career with Naval Reactors/NAVSEA 08, with the last 8 years as the Naval Reactors Representative, Moored Training Ship, Charleston, Craig Richard joined the staff of ORBIS to lead our Southeast Division as the Director of Operations. Craig brings his wealth of experience and knowledge with naval nuclear propulsion, availability planning and execution, training, and research and development to our Charleston office. Craig is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania (’88 BSE MEAM). In addition, Craig is a graduate of the Bettis Reactor Engineering School in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and the Naval Nuclear Power Training Unit in Charleston, SC.

Earl Donnell

Earl Donnell joined ORBIS in 2007 after 38 years at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. At ORBIS, he has been a Program Manager supporting NAVSEA 04XR & Corporate Resource Teams and Founder of ORBIS Industrial Services Division. During his government career, he managed the Production Department industrial organization responsible for the planning and executing submarine overhaul, modernization and repair work. He ensured compliance with safety and environment regulations while focusing on quality, schedule adherence and cost control. He has specialized knowledge and experience with all matters of DoD, NAVY and NAVSEA Resource Planning. Shipyard positions included: Journeyman Marine Machinery Mechanic, Supervisor, General Foreman, Combined Trades GF, Nuclear Director, Nuclear Production Manager, Production Operations and Planning Manager and Program Manager for National Security Personnel System, where he received both the Meritorious and Superior Civilian Service Awards. Government corporate positions included: Founder and Chairperson of the Corporate Production Resource Planning Team, member of the Naval Shipyard Leadership Development Board of Directors, NAVSEA Project Management College and Executive Leadership Course Instructor, Resource Management National Value Stream Manager, and Naval Shipyard Lean Management Board of Directors.

Greg Thomas, Ph.D

Submarine Initiatives
Dr. Greg Thomas, PhD, Captain, United States Navy (Retired), is a former Engineering Duty Officer with extensive Ship Design, Acquisition, Construction, and Maintenance experience. Greg served as Operations Officer at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard and consecutive tours as Shipyard Commander- at Pearl Harbor Naval Shipyard from 2007 to 2010, and at Norfolk Naval Shipyard from 2010 to 2011. Prior tours included service as Repair Officer on USS FRANK CABLE (AS 40) from 2001 to 2003 and as VIRGINIA Class Program Manager's Representative (PMR) at Newport News Shipbuilding from 1999-2001. Following his 30-year career in the United States Navy Greg worked with Siemens Government Technologies managing software programs in support of the Navy maintenance enterprise and worked at Halifax Shipyard in Nova Scotia, Canada, as Production Director and as the Test and Trials Director for the Arctic and Offshore Patrol Ship (AOPS). As Test and Trials Director led the team responsible for all aspects of the test and trials programs, from static testing through completion of sea trials, delivery, and post-acceptance trials of the lead ship of the class. Greg is the Vice President for Submarine Initiatives for Orbis Sibro, Inc., serving out of our Portsmouth, NH.
Greg was commissioned from the United States Naval Academy in 1982 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering. He earned his Master of Science degree, Naval Engineers degree, and a PhD in Hydrodynamics from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and was the 1994 American Society of Naval Engineers (ASNE) Brand Award winner for highest academic standing in the Naval Engineers program.
Greg is also the ASNE Northern New England chapter chairperson.

Chris Thomas

Growth
Chris comes to ORBIS with 15 years' experience in the DoD, Interagency, and Intelligence Community markets with a heavy focus on Navy Surface Warfare, air and missile defense and integrated combat systems. Most recently he served as Senior Director of Strategic Capture at BlueHalo, an AV Company. Chris previously spent five years with SAIC supporting the Navy Program Executive Office, Integrated Warfare Office (PEO IWS), and five years with American Operations Corporation (AOC) as Vice President for AOC Mission Services. Chris spent 22 years as a US Navy Surface Warfare Officer with operational experience in cruisers, destroyers, and frigates, and staff experience at OPNAV N96, the Missile Defense Agency, and the Executive Office of the President. He is a Veteran of the First Gulf War and the War in Afghanistan. Chris is a US Naval Academy graduate and holds an MBA, a MS in Management, and an MA in National Policy and Strategic Studies. He is a former Board Member of the Surface Navy Association and is currently the Vice Chair of the Montgomery County, Maryland Commission for Veterans Affairs. He is on the Board of Governors of the Army and Navy Club in Washington, DC.

John Markowicz

John joined the ORBIS team in 2020 to lead operations in San Diego, California. He previously served in the active duty Navy for 28 years as a senior Engineering Duty Officer. John brings to Orbis his life cycle management experience and a strong background in Fleet maintenance. He is a former Program Manager for In-Service Carriers (PMS 312) and his last Navy assignment was Assistant Chief of Staff for Fleet Maintenance and Modernization at the staff of Commander Naval Air Forces, Pacific Fleet. John holds degrees from Tufts University (BS in Mechanical Engineering) and the Naval Postgraduate School (MS and ME in Mechanical Engineering). He is certified DAWIA level III in both Program Management and Production, Quality, and Manufacturing. He holds a Professional Engineer license in California.
